Wednesday, April 26, was Secretary’s Day, and those who work at Farmington High were honored with a luncheon and gifts.

Everyone should appreciate the school secretaries given the fact that they do a lot of multitasking that other people don’t have to do. They take care of people coming into the office, answering phone calls, and helping other staff when- and wherever they can.

On top of that they also also have to know a wealth of information to assist students and parents.

“First of all, being appreciated is a wonderful feeling,” said guidance office secretary, Charlotte Simpson.

When asked what type of celebration should be done on this day she replied, “Food is always awesome but what about a paid day off? And I love flowers.”

This day is very important to secretaries so they can see how many people appreciate them and the job that they do. Students should take the time to show appreciation since they do a lot for the school.

“I enjoy my job because of all the students here at FHS. I’ve always been a multitasker and I’ve always loved being around kids. Now I get to do both at the same time,” said Simpson.

Secretaries help by assisting with a lot of things. For example, they help students talk with their counselors; they help students get work permits for employment; print out report cards; and help out with testing preparation and with the scheduling process.

Secretaries help in many ways and whether it was in words or gifts, let’s hope the secretaries know how  thankful we are for them.
