It was that time of the year again for upperclassmen to go get dressed up and enjoy an evening of dinner and dancing.

The Farmington High 2017 Prom took place on April 29, 2017, at the Lakeshore Reception Center in Flora Vista.

The high school has been promoting the dance since early March, urging students to find dates and save up money for tickets, so that they could have a great time at the dance.

The prom, themed “A Stroll Through The Vineyard,” was organized by Student Senate.

Farmington High senior Noah Maestas gave his thoughts on what prom meant to him as a senior.

“Prom is one of those things you have to to before you leave high school. It’s kinda like a right of passage,” he said.

Maestas’ statement can actually be very true for every single senior but most of the time, not every senior gets the change to go to their high school prom, which many find sad and unfortunate.

Farmington High senior Hannah Brewer gave her thoughts on those that decided not to attend prom.

“Attending prom is a privilege that I would not recommend skipping,” Brewer said. “It’s probably one of the best and most fun experiences of high school.”

The dance began at 9 p.m. and ended at midnight.

What people tend to do before or even after the dance is go with their partner or even their group out to dinner and to celebrate. To save those memories, students gather together to take pictures of themselves or even have professional photography done so that they could have the memories with them forever.

“Senate did an amazing job getting everything put together, I couldn’t have asked for anything nicer.” stated Brewer.

“Being a senior, prom was really my last night to be with my entire class, it meant so much to me because it’s an unforgettable experience,” added Brewer.
